Annandale Warehouse

Completed I April 2011 I Photography by Richard Glover

A conversion that not only highlights H&E’s exemplary design and focus on finishing, but the importance of the relationship between designer and client.

This was eight years in the making – from finding the site to completing the finishes, a period cloaked by close and extensive engagement between both parties.

Situated on a large corner block, old buildings were completely gutted and transformed to accommodate the four-bedroom home – a multi-level conversion designed to retain as much of the original brick, steel and timber fabric as possible.

H&E employed a considerable and adaptive approach to the reuse of demolished materials and timbers from the site, as well as the retention of industrial beams and metal girders within the project – the result being a truly unique stronghold of luxury and inner-calm on the bustling
fringes of the city.
