H&E completely oversaw this restaurant project – the architecture, interior design, and styling of the acclaimed Sydney eatery that’s as known for its food (Matt Moran again the man behind the menu) as for the unobtrusive, clean design that works neatly into the leafy surrounds.
A former cottage and stables – as well as one-time fusty restaurant – this was a build in as much as it was the management and navigation of approvals processes, DAs and considerable community consultation – all undertaken by H&E.
Replete with its own kitchen garden – Chiswick boasts a flexible, functional layout for up to 180 diners, and was responsible for driving the popularity of share-plate dining, open kitchens and large scale communal tables in Australia.
Accomplished from the outset – this property remains a glowing success and Sydney institution that’s spawned spin-off, Chiswick at the Gallery (also executed by H&E), located at the Art Gallery of NSW.
